About Andrew Neil and Code Purple Band
Meet the band Andrew Neil and Code Purple. Made up of Central Virginia-area musicians, the band was originally formed in 2022 to support an upcoming gig to open for Raelyn Nelson Band’s “Weed and Whiskey Tour” in Hershey Pennsylvania. After several months of practicing and preparing, changes in band members, and various cancellations and date changes for the concert due to illnesses and venue flooding, they were finally able to make their debut on the Rhinestone Stage in Nashville on March 17, 2023.
After that performance, the band decided to officially release the song, “I Like” and see how it would be received. The original recording was sent to producer and mixing engineer, Andy Waldeck, for final mixing. The song was recorded using eight microphones, so there were individual stems that could be mixed. There was some bleed over, but that added to the lofi Garage Rock Sound that the band wanted. The song was officially released to all music streaming platforms on May 15, 2023. That song was successful, so they continued to create and released their first full album, Resurrection, in fall 2023.
